About Sandro Šafar
I'm a 26-year-old FIDE Master from Croatia with 18 years of competitive chess experience. I've been playing tournaments since I was 7 years old, which has taught me what it really takes to improve and compete at a high level.
I achieved my peak rating of 2354 and earned an IM norm at EICC2024. I'm also in the top 0.1% on Chess.com and was formerly #1 in Croatia for puzzles (peaked over 3700 rating).
When I'm not playing or teaching chess, I enjoy video games, board games, and escape rooms!
Teaching Experience & Results
I've helped 181 people from 31 different countries so far. I've been coaching for over 6 years now, working mostly with adult beginners and intermediates.
My teaching focuses on understanding the game through rules and principles, and simplifying complex ideas so they actually make sense. I'm a big believer in structured learning - which is why I love working through Chessodoro's platform.
